Now

I was in yesterday
When God awakened
Me from Heaven—
Now I am in today

I was blind
Before His beams of light
Showered down upon me—
Now I see

I was deaf,
Until the sounds of mighty
Choirs filled my ears—
Now I hear

I was thirsty,
And from His fountain
Flowed living water—
Now I thirst no more

I was once weak
Before the Spirit
Gave me peace—
Now I am strong

  1. Carol, I was blown away by this when I opened my email this morning and read it; I was so encouraged by the power of the message. I had to post it right away (it was about time I posted a new sonnet, too!) I am grateful to the Spirit for using you to share such poignant truth–He is so good!

  2. Dear Carol

Thank you so much for reminding us that He surely is there for us 24/7 – every single second in every part of our life. Went to say how particularly special the last verse was to me, read it all again and decided every verse was special and meaningful and I didn’t want to choose!

    Love Sylvia

  3. Dear Cami and Sylvia,

    Yes He Is So Good.

Thank you for your encouraging comments.I had no idea that this sonnet would be so meaningful to you both. I had changed its wording so many times and the order of its verses..

and Cami, you know how I am with my writing unsure of my wording and hesitant at times about sending them to you. I am so grateful that I am guided by the Spirit, not only for be able to feel and receive his encouragement to write them but also for allowing me to have the courage to email them to you for posting..I am sure I would never post them if it were left up to me..

Sylvia, the first verse just means so very much to me, yesterday was a long time for me, however, Today is forever, for eternity..

  5. Hi Carol,

I was just contemplating yesterday Psalm 32:7 “You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance”. It is so amazing to think of God surrounding us with songs! I just love the line in your poem about mighty choirs filling our ears!

    Blessings,
    Scotti
